Chairman and CEO
A life sciences executive with a successful track record driving growth by building patient-focused companies, Mark joined PolyRemedy® in January 2010. He was previously President and CEO of HyperMed, Inc., a commercial stage start-up medical device company dedicated to improving the diagnosis and associated outcomes of advanced vascular interventions using novel hyperspectrial imaging technology. Most relevant to PolyRemedy, Mark was President USA of Kinetic Concepts Inc. (NYSE: KCI), a leading global medical technology company in advanced wound care whose breakthrough technology has enabled clinicians to improve the lives of over 1 million patients. At KCI, he reinvigorated the business by growing revenues from $650 million to $950 million and expanding company profits by 62 percent over 20 months.
As VP Corporate Development for OraPharma, Inc., a drug-device combination therapy to treat periodontal disease, he co-led a successful IPO and eventual sale to Johnson & Johnson. Mark also served in various sales, marketing and manufacturing roles with Eli Lilly and Company and was a member of The Boston Consulting Group for six years.
Mark holds a MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and a BS in Industrial Engineering from Penn State University.
President and COO
Cameron leads the commercial and operating efforts for our pioneering, cost-effective wound care solutions.
Cameron arrived at PolyRemedy in 2011 after five years at Kinetic Concepts, Inc. (NYSE: KCI), a global leader in advanced wound care, where he held Vice President roles of increased responsibility in Commercial Operations, National Accounts, Managed Care, and Government. As part of a US leadership team that expanded the business from $650 million to $1.05 billion, he directed sales force structure and expansion; pricing and customer program development; GPO, MCO and Government contract negotiation and execution; and sales training, systems and compensation. Cameron also led collaborations with physicians and administrators to help federal policymakers make educated decisions on laws affecting treatment options for Medicare and Medicaid patients with serious acute and chronic wounds.
Prior to KCI, Cameron worked in corporate strategy consulting, where he assisted management teams and private equity investors in developing growth and go-to-market strategies and in evaluating potential acquisitions. His client engagements included work for companies in the pharmaceutical, medical device, and home healthcare services industries. In addition, he served as Vice President, Strategic Planning for United Stationers (NASDAQ: USTR), a Fortune 500 business products distributor.
Cameron holds an AB degree in Economics from Dartmouth College.
David A. Richard
Sr. Vice President of Operations
David joins PolyRemedy with more than 20 years of senior engineering and operations management experience in the medical device and automotive industries. He has held senior line management positions with Trident Dental Laboratories, Plastec Inc., VTEC, Eye Technologies and IOLAB. David holds nine domestic and international patents spanning medical device, automotive, electronic, and optical modalities. He brings a strong operations acumen as well as a mix of post graduate theoretical and practical mechanical and materials engineering. His engaging management style will be used to support the commercialization of PolyRemedy’s HealSmart Personalized Woundcare System. David has been involved in medical device enterprise start-up, turn-a-round and scale up endeavors where he skillfully drove a strong commitment to customer satisfaction, efficiency, cost effectiveness, quality, and shareholder reward. David holds a BSME from The University of New Haven and a MSME in materials science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
Director of Software Engineering
Dan joined PolyRemedy in January of 2012 and is responsible for all aspects of software engineering including research, development, and quality assurance. Under Dan’s leadership, PolyRemedy has successfully extended its offering to include a RESTful web service API and dynamic HTLM5 user interface.
Dan has been delivering successful software solutions for more than a decade, most recently at desktop virtualization vendor Unidesk Corporation. He has worked extensively as a consultant and has broad experience in developing secure web-based applications and services for clients that include Wolfram Research and Kantar Retail. A strong proponent of agile methodologies, Dan has built high-performing teams including in situations where team members are distributed across continents. His work on intelligent systems has been demonstrated in U.S. Department of Defense simulations, and in high volume internet applications.
Dan holds an S.M. in computer science from Harvard University and a B.S. in economics from Duke University.
Director of Clinical Affairs
Kathy Whittington, RN, MS, CWCN is the Director of Clinical Affairs for PolyRemedy. She is responsible for developing and presenting education programs Antimicrobial HealSmart dressings. In addition, she supports customers with wound care consultations, reviews PolyRemedy products and materials to optimize their training impact and clinical effectiveness, and serves as a primary liaison with healthcare professionals. Prior to joining PolyRemedy, Kathy held Director positions with Molnlycke Health Care in Marketing and Kinetic Concepts, Inc. in Clinical Education, Medical Affairs and Marketing.
In Kathy’s 20+ years in wound care, she has developed expertise in the clinical management of wounds, prevalence and incidence studies, development of wound care prevention and treatment protocols, and wound care outcomes management programs. Kathy is an internationally known speaker and author of numerous articles on CQI, wound care and prevalence and incidence.
Kathy earned her BSN degree in nursing from Georgia State University Nursing in 1981. She attended the R. B. Turnbull School of Enterostomal Therapy in 1990 at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio and a MS in Psychology from Georgia State University in 1995. Kathy has been certified as a CWCN since 1990.
Director of Sales
Patti joined PolyRemedy in November 2012 as Sales Director. She brings a successful track record that spans 20 years in medical device sales, with a focus on home health. Patti has a rare combination of deep clinical and business experience, which allows her to understand the clinician perspective while being focused to drive sales.
Most recently Patti held various positions of increasing responsibility at Systagenix. She moved from her role as Manager of Professional Education to a National Accounts IDN/GPO role to leader of Home Health US Sales. She developed and implemented an expansion plan that resulted in substantial growth in advanced wound dressing sales within Home Health Agencies. Additionally Patti was part of the US leadership team that worked to optimize contract opportunities with GPOs and IDNs.
Prior to Systagenix, Patti successfully managed a Post Acute sales team for Kinetic Concepts Inc. She was then promoted to Director of Post Acute National Accounts. In this role Patti managed key National Home Health and Wound Care Center Accounts.
Patti’s earlier career includes being the owner and President of Positive Outcomes®, a Home Health based wound management company, and various roles with companies such as Hill-Rom, Healthcare Quality Solutions, and OASIS Answers, Inc.
Patti is a graduate of the LSU School of Nursing and is a Registered Nurse. She is a Certified Wound Care Nurse and serves on the Home Health OASIS certification, Clinical OASIS Specialist-Clinical Exam Review Board and Advisory Panel.
